Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – claiming compensation

Question: I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and I am making a claim against Social Services as I feel that the CTS was caused by me restraining a service user (which was necessary so he wouldn’t self injure). I have seen two specialists and they have both said that the CTS wasn’t caused by my work. I am arguing that it was an RSI as restraint occurred regularly over a long period of time.

Is it a recognized medical fact that CTS can be caused by an RSI? Does anybody know of any cases of RSI which are non-keyboard or construction industry based or similar to mine?
