Nobody seems to want to give me a job… that might have something to do with the fact I’ve had RSI

Question: Would anybody who works in Leeds or thereabouts like to employ me in a personnel role?! I’m a graduate member of the CIPD but somehow nobody seems to want to give me a job… that might have something to do with the fact I’ve had RSI for the last two years and haven’t been able to work! 🙂

Answer: I can’t believe that all those fluffy HR departments out there don’t lap you up! I guess that you’ve racked your brains but here’s a couple of ideas. You can bin them if they sound daft.  Have you thought about becoming a trainer / training specialist? This is less reliant on ergonomic situations (I would have thought). Still want CIPD. My sister-in-law does it. People get paid mountains for running courses on sometimes the most mundane things.

How about becoming your own self-employed consultant in whatever you did before? I’m applying for a lot of different jobs at the moment and the majority of 1st interviews are with contracted out consultants. I guess that recruitment is specific in itself.
