Question: In all honesty are there any pianist or piano teachers out there who make a living teaching (or playing) who have tendonitis in the hands/wrists?
Answer 1: There’s a “Musicians and Injuries” web page. It mentions a book called “Musicians and Injuries: A Guide to their Understanding and Prevention”, by Nicola Culf, ISBN 1-898594-62-7 1998 Parapress Ltd, Guildford. Apparently it’s obtainable from Amazon.
Also — I think that Dr Pearson has a Musician’s Clinic in the same building where the Hale Clinic is located (in London). And I think there is a musician’s clinic at the London College of Music.
Answer 2: I don’t know the name, but a visitor to our Internet Cafe on Ibiza was a composer who had this problem. He was also a very good pianist but had to limit his playing time. ISTR he mentioned that acupuncture was the only thing apart from rest, which had helped.
