Mac OS update supports VR again

Thought the following would be of interest to the Mac users on this list:
Mac OS 8.6 released
Apple announced that Mac OS 8.6, the newest version of the Mac’s operating system is now available. The update is free to any owner of Mac OS 8.5 or 8.5.1. MacFormat
also expects to bring you the full 35MB UK update on our cover CD as soon as possible; keep watching MacFormat for details.
Among the new features in Mac OS 8.6 are:

  • Increased stability and speed
  • The ability to read and write to DVD-RAM discs
  • Enhanced USB and FireWire support
  • (This one will be very welcome) Speech Recognition support for iMac and blue PowerMac G3 owners
  • Improved power efficiency that enables a PowerBook to run for up to 25% longer on one battery charge
  • Revamped Sherlock search engine which includes resizable window
  • Updates to Apple system Profiler, AppleScript, ColorSync, Disk Copy, LaserWriter printer driver, Open Transport, Startup Disk

Shame no one produces a decent VR system for it.
