I went to www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk — I hope that’s the right url — to see if it could diagnose my RSI. *No*. So I searched the site for carpal tunnel, tenosynovitis, tendonitis, De Quervain’s, and RSI. Nothing.(Maybe Welsh doctors set it up?!) I left a comment about this in their Contact US bit. Maybe other people would like to drop in to see what else it can’t do?
Answer 1: Yeh I looked too to see if you could get myofascial trigger point release therapy on prescription, and i didn’t really find anything out… oh well. Can you? Anyone know any helpful RSI resources (any kind) in south Brum? (hand specialists, therapists, sympathetic doctors, anything useful at all…?)
Answer 2: The answer to some of these things is, you can if your doctor has a contract — is that right? — with whoever it is. So some people can get physio., for example, on the NHS (and some can get osteopathy) and some can’t. So I suppose you just have to ask your doctor.
