Will pilates cure RSI?

I don’t really expect pilates to ‘cure’ RSI. But I guess in terms of long term damage limitation, this seems to be a good exercise form to help the body. I am hoping that pilates will give me muscles in all the right places so that I will have a head start when I go back to doing Alexander. Hopefully, doing it would improve my posture. Pilates is also supposed to reprogram the way your muscles work together, to make them work how they are supposed to, i.e. in opposition to each other.
I have been told that the muscles down my back that should hold up the arms are weak, and so this work is being done by muscles across the top of the shoulder which are not designed for it. This sounds reasonable. I can definitely feel the absence of these muscles in certain exercises, and their presence after they have been worked!
