Plantronics CS50 Headset & Handset Phone Lifter

We’re looking today at the Plantronics CS50 wireless headset. This headset connects via this base station right here, which you plug into your telephone. This charges it and is also the main radio. This headset is very comfortable, it’s only about an ounce to wear; it’s like it’s not even there. It uses a 900mHz band instead of a 2.4gHz Bluetooth band, so you can walk all the way down the hall and back and maintain your connection. One of the coolest features about this thing: for an extra cost it has a lifter, so you don’t have to pick up the phone to answer it. You just press the little button by your ear, and the phone is lifted, and then when you’re done with the call, press it again and it hangs up for you. This is a very expensive, luxurious headset. There are a lot of lower-cost, wired models that will do the job; if you want to get up and walk around though, be prepared to pay for this, plus the lifter, to get the whole thing.

  1. Does it work with any home corded telephone? And does it ring/beep through the headset when the ringer is set to silent on the base of the phone?
