Question: There is another web site which tries to present “Science-based Information on Alternative and Complementary Medicine”. It’s called Health Care Reality Check
I prefer it because I find Stephen Barrett’s tone on Quackwatch to be quite aggressive, and I think he is often too quick to shout “Quackery! Scam!” His tone is so strident that it seems to be just the other side of the coin. Disbelieving in everything is as unbalanced as wide-eyed gullibility.
The HCRC site includes a link to Quackwatch and to The Skeptic and other campaigning type sites, but it also has a lot of other very interesting articles.
Answer 1: Thank you. I still can’t quite work out the quackwatch piece on chiropractic.. I’ll bookmark this site.
“quite aggressive, and I think he is often too quick to shout “Quackery! Scam!”
Unfortunately he is not alone: I mentioned ibuprofen gel on Sorehand once, and was asked, rather aggressively, if it was a snake-oil type thing… — I hadn’t forgotten the gel doesn’t work for some people here: that depends on the type of injury, how close it is to the surface (the gel doesn’t work on my back), and the amount used.
Now to peer at the web page.
