Could anyone recommend any particularly good books about AT?

Question: Could anyone recommend any particularly good books about AT? To what extent are books on AT any use compared to seeing an actual teacher? Also, does anyone know of any AT teachers in Tunbridge Wells?

Answer: I haven’t read any books on it yet, but I’ve just had my second Alexander lesson and I really feel it will prove helpful. I’m hopeful that it will sort out the root problems behind the RSI, so that, when I can finally get it under control, I may stand a chance of avoiding a recurrence.  It’s certainly a wonderfully relaxing 30-40 minutes, and I’ve been finding I can release tension from muscles I didn’t know I had, let alone that they were so tense!  I’m in Dorset, but I found my teacher through the Alexander Technique website – www.stat.org.uk. It costs £22 per lesson. They also give details of books.
