When I mentioned that rowing machines wouldn’t be much good for me, this was because my RSI is specifically in my hands and forearms. I haven’t had much strength or stamina there (can’t push myself up with my hands when I’ve been sitting on the floor, or support myself on them for long), so I’d never be able to manage the push-pull motion of a rowing machine. That said, my physio thought the idea was pretty mad, too. Although I do resistance exercises with a latex band, any kind of work with weights is absolute agony. This is just me, of course – those with RSI which affects different areas may have no problem. We’re all different. I wouldn’t try any kind of resistance work without checking with your physio/GP first, though. Hope everyone’s surviving the week OK.
