Question: I am currently trying to use Dragon Naturally Speaking at work and have bought the microphone a Dragon reseller recommended a Gold XVI? (as the one which came with the software was crap). There is also a switching box which can be purchased which enables the headset to be used for both software and phone. However, there seems to be problems with it working with British telephone systems, so I’m told.Is anybody else in this situation (I’m sure I can’t be alone).
Does anyone have a solution to this problem because at the moment I spend my day switching headsets and as I suffer from heaviness in my arms this is not doing me any good!!
Answer: I run both Dragon Dictate and NaturallySpeaking at work, and tonight I will be installing both at home (as I now have a meaty enough PC (the old P100 wouldn’t have coped). I’m actually off to (God help me) PCWorld this lunchtime, to look at microphone headsets. A colleague bought his there, for a tenner, and reckons it’s better than the one that is supplied with the Dragon products. My Dragon microphone here at work is an old one, and seems OK (better constructed than the one currently supplied).
