Stress as a factor

I too find stress aggravates my RSI. Stress also results in people suffering more from colds and other diseases. The body has probably learnt that the best way to make you reduce the stress levels is by making your arms hurt. As a result you rest and reduce the stress. Stress may affect the pain gate, the way the body controls pain signals, and allows lower levels of pain to be registered in the brain.

This is essential reading for RSI sufferers! This explains in great detail how the nervous system works and how you get pain. It gets a bit technical but you can jump those bits.
