Question: Does anyone know of any studies that have looked at the effectiveness of the “stretch break” software style programs on productivity, sick time, injuries and other variables.
Answer 1: I have just completed a three month project for my degree on developing one such program which entailed lots of research. Robert Henning has written a number of good papers about effects on productivity, and is one of the leading authorities in this field. The papers of his I read were published in the journal Industrial Ergonomics. I have piles of other bits on various aspects of rest break software – let me know exactly what you need to know and I will try and give you some pointers.
Answer 2: I’m not looking for anything in particular about the subject – just some useful papers, studies on the usefulness and effects on its implementation. Really, anything you have on the subject would be great.
