Has anyone had any success with acupuncture in the RSI/sports injury arena?

Question: My Osteopath has recommended I try it as it may help some problems I am having with muscles in my forearm. Has anyone had any success with acupuncture in the RSI/sports injury arena?

Answer 1: I think it really helps, but you need to make sure workstation improved, and you are doing exercises etc as well. As the root of my RSI was spine, I had lots of lovely needles across my back – feels great afterwards.

Answer 2: Find the one which best fits, and not all practitioners practice all.

Answer 3: The acupuncture I have is traditional Chinese. The underlying physical aspects of my health (incl. tendency to inflammation) are being treated at the same time as the local pain.  Personally I wouldn’t consider acupuncture as given by western doctors or physios, which tends to be based on the idea of using fixed points for pain in certain areas, and which does not include diagnosis of the whole person. (Also, I don’t exactly think a few days’ of training, which is all many doctors and physios get, is enough!!)
