Question: My feelings on the matter is, although I don’t believe stress was that much of a contributory factor in the sustaining of my RSI injury, I do think it has been a factor in my degrees of suffering (god – that sounds melodramatic doesn’t it!). Since being signed off sick (I’m on no pay, waiting for my employers to get VR in & have just found out that they have had others off since NOVEMBER 99 waiting for VR & although their computers accept it its still not installed) I’ve been more stressed than ever before in my life. The bad days when I really let it get to me, I seem to also have more pain. The days when I’m more relaxed, although I still have pain, it’s not as bad. I think people have so much crap from people saying its all in their mind that anything relating to psychological conditions is, understandably, a bit of a red rag to a bull. And, however much stress is or isn’t a factor in RSI. In terms of general health, learning to relax more can never be a bad thing!
